Situated on the Western Highway, just 4 km east of the picturesque Victorian township of Ararat, Green Hill Lake has plenty on offer for locals and travellers alike. There is drinking water available, fire pits, picnic tables, chairs, playground and exercise machine, pontoon, boat ramps. The lake is well-stocked with trout for those looking to catch a feed of fish for dinner, be it from the jetty, a boat or the shoreline. There are walking tracks, photography, bird watching, water sports, bush walking, and a concrete walking or cycling path runs all the way to Ararat. The lake has two green lawn picnic area with table and chair sets and free gas BBQs. These areas features covered Picnic Pavilions which prove ideal in inclement weather. Our friendly rangers visit the lake most days and are a great source of information regarding local events and tourist attractions. As the rangers will tell you there are plenty of great things to see and do in the area including many wineries, museums and heritage centers along with well maintained national parks and gardens.

Nature, fishing, picnic, cycling. Spend an afternoon or day by the lake relaxing. BBQ facilities and toilets there.
