I’m a chef and food writer who got my start in restaurants as a teenager, first at Chez Panisse and later in kitchens in Europe and New York. Eventually I shifted into food media, where I spent years as an editor and video host at Bon Appétit. My first book, The Cook You Want to Be, became a New York Times bestseller and won a James Beard Award. Now I write and film for NYT Cooking while working on my next book.
