We had a great stay! The room was smaller than expected, but it was very clean and very nice inside… better than it looks from the outside of the building. The air conditioning was strong (a major plus!), and the ocean view was a beautiful touch.
We were warmly greeted by Yimi, who was an absolute gem. She was so helpful throughout our stay and even brought breakfast every morning, which was the perfect start to our days. The host was also fantastic — very responsive and helped us navigate a few issues we had coming into Cuba from the U.S. I’m truly grateful for her support and quick problem-solving.
One thing to be aware of: Cuba does have scheduled blackouts, which we weren’t initially aware of. We learned more during one of our tours and experienced one firsthand on Sunday night from 11 PM to 3 AM. It wasn’t the most comfortable in the heat, but this is part of the broader situation in Cuba — not the host’s fault. Just something to prepare for!
All in all, a wonderful experience.
