Hace 1 semanaWe absolutely loved our stay in this beautiful historic home in Chawton. The room was cozy and full of character, with thoughtful touches throughout. The owners were so kind and welcoming, and the breakfast was delicious and abundant! Their garden is lovely — such a peaceful place to start or end the day. It’s an easy, lovely walk into the village for a meal, coffee, or a visit to Jane Austen’s house. A perfect stay for anyone who loves history, charm, and a bit of tranquility.

Hace 2 semanasIt was such a lovely stay that I booked an extra night and was very fortunate they had a vacancy. Kate was so welcoming, friendly and helpful. The house was so comfortable and I felt right at home. The surroundings and the garden are beautiful. I could sit in the garden, use the small breakfast room to get some writing done, and enjoy the views out of every window. The breakfast was amazing. The house is just a few minutes from Chawton by car, or there is a lovely walk that takes around 20 minutes or so. The local pub serves good food and Kate has some very helpful recommendations a little further afield, and even phoned on my behalf to see if a table was available. Local attractions include Jane Austen's House (make sure you book a time to go through), Chawton Manor, a park where you can picnic, and some lovely walks. The property is only a half hour drive from Winchester. I would definitely book to stay here again. It was ideal. A bonus for me were two lovely friendly household dogs.

Hace 2 semanasKate and Mark's place was a real find for a group of traveling "Jane Austen groupies". Tucked up into the hills behind ancient Chawton House, we found this hidden gem easily with their clear instructions.
Once the gardener's cottage for the main House, its abundant garden shares an ornate iron gate with Chawton House's walled rose and stone fruit orchard.
Set on 3 acres of lovingly cared for and lush gardens, we loved strolling the fragrant great outdoors and interacting with their two friendly pooches. A wonderful time for us to and literally stop and smell the roses.
Mark and Kate's friendliness shown through and they welcomed us into their home graciously. Our group was served a beautiful, fuller-than-full English breakfast in an octagonal sun-dappled morning room on beautiful tableware.
Definitely a highlight of our girls trip!

Hace 3 semanasWe stayed here after attending a relative’s medieval-themed wedding nearby, and it couldn’t have been a better choice! The property and garden are absolutely beautiful – peaceful surroundings and a really charming atmosphere that fit perfectly with the whole weekend.
The hosts were incredibly welcoming and warm. I completely misread the listing and didn’t realise breakfast was included – so it was a lovely surprise! Even more impressive, they were super accommodating despite the short notice, making sure the vegan and vegetarian guests in our group were well looked after.
A really lovely stay – would happily return and highly recommend!
