I only visited the Grand Egyptian Museum since I did the Pyramids and Sphinx on another tour. All I can say is WOW!!! The new Museum lacks the character of the old Museum but it is an architectural feat. OMG!!! My tour guide Abdel Rahman (not James) is as good as you will get. An Egyptologist student writing his Masters thesis. The Museum is a bit overwhelming. I would revisit it over 2-3 days because it has not officially opened and the Main Gallery itself is overwhelming. The amount of history and knowledge on display in this Museum is beyond belief. Without question you must sign up for this tour.
