This was an interesting and educational night walk, and the guide’s knowledge of nocturnal wildlife was excellent. I appreciated learning about the different creatures and seeing them up close — it’s a unique experience. That said, as someone who joined primarily to capture macro photos, I found it a bit challenging to get the shots I hoped for. The guide had two people in training, and almost every time something interesting was spotted, they photographed it first—often for quite a while—before I had a turn. By the time I got access, the group was moving on, so I didn’t have the time to get good macro shots. Overall, it’s a good experience for nature lovers and those curious about night wildlife, but I wouldn’t recommend it for serious macro photography unless you can join a very small or dedicated photography group and the trainees aren't focused on their own photography.
