My sister and I had an amazing time making chocolate with Mauricio! You can tell that Mauricio is VERY knowledgeable about everything chocolate and he’s passionate about it as well. It was very fun getting to make our own bars and bringing them home to our families. I would recommend this to anyone looking for something to do in San Jose! You will not regret it!

Making my own chocolate bar with Maurizio was an incredibly fun and memorable experience! Hosted in his stable, the workshop was full of laughter and a playful way to discover the cultural and economic importance of cacao in Costa Rica. From the raw plant to crafting your own bar with toppings and even designing the packaging, the process was hands-on, creative, and surprisingly insightful. It’s a great introduction if you don’t have time to visit a cacao farm, or a perfect complement if you do. Maurizio is generous, funny, and a true fountain of knowledge who makes everyone feel comfortable and engaged. I left not only with a deeper understanding of cacao’s heritage, but also with 2 chocolate bars made with so much affection that I can’t wait to share it back home. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a mix of culture, fun, and sweet memories!
