Wonderful experience! The volunteer who was my guide was super knowledgeable, fun, and a great ambassador of the rescue’s work.

Emma was super knowledgeable during our tour! We got to see the unique behind the scene operations of the NYMRC, learned some fun facts, and gained such an appreciation for what they do. Would highly recommend!

Emma gave us an amazing tour. This was a one of a kind experience that my family was not aware existed - although we have visited the aquarium many times before. Although they are connected to the aquarium- they are a separate organization. My children (11 & 13), along with my husband and I, learned so much. I highly recommend!

An Amazing and Unique Experience!

We absolutely love turtles, and visiting this rehabilitation center was an unforgettable experience! Watching the turtles being cared for and prepared for ttheir release back into the wild was truly something special. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable, providing detailed information about the rehabilitation process and explaining how each turtle is unique.
It's a fantastic opportunity to learn more about these remarkable creatures and how they’re rehabilitated before being released into their natural habitat.

A couple of things to keep in mind: since this is an active hospital, they do not allow visitors to touch or photograph the patients, which makes sense to ensure the turtles’ well-being. Also, the facility may not be fully stocked with patients during your visit, but that’s just part of the nature of rehabilitation!

Overall, a must-see for anyone interested in conservation and rehabilitation. Highly recommend!
