We cannot Samantha enough for the experience that my family and I had with her. She was knowledgeable, patient, kind and caring throughout our tour with her. She answered all of our questions and added in a unique perspective about being a student at the university. She also recommended the best ice cream spot at the end of the tour. It is so evident that she cares so deeply about introducing others to her now home city and we learned so much about Coimbra and Portugal that we would not have otherwise. I had the pleasure of touring Coimbra with Samantha, an advanced degree student at the University of Coimbra, and it was a wonderful experience. Samantha shared fascinating details about the student uniforms and black capes—symbols of university tradition that even inspired the Harry Potter saga. She explained the unique objects and rituals tied to student life and parties, which added great depth to the experience. The highlight was our visit to the stunning Baroque Library, a true treasure. To top it off, she recommended a vegan spot where I had the best burrito ever. Samantha’s knowledge, warmth, and enthusiasm made this one of the best tours I’ve had in Portugal.

Cannot say enough good things about this tour with Samantha. Expert knowledge of Coimbra, wonderfully personable and enthusiastic. Her pace, foundation of history, and seamless delivery really helped us effortlessly learn about Coimbra. She is an actual student pursuing a second degree at the university and a local so her insights and niche knowledge of the university and city added so many special bits of insight that made the whole experience come alive. Some tours feel like you’re just listening to live Wikipedia, but Samantha’s tour was rich and helped us understand an intimate, authentic experience of the city, as if we were a local.
