My experience was an all-around success—female solo traveler approved! The hosts were very communicative with directions, and it’s about a 1.5-hour drive to get there. There’s only one bathroom on site. If you forget a waterproof phone pouch, they sell them cheaply. Travel light and apply bug spray and sunscreen beforehand. You can leave items in the van or at the falls, both at your own risk. The hike was mostly easy, with a few steep parts, even for someone out of shape. Our tour guide, G, was incredible—helpful, encouraging, and super protective. She knows the land so well! The water slides were amazing and optional; I wish I could’ve gone a thousand more times. The jump is also optional but totally worth it—you’ll have guides and a life jacket for safety. Since I booked the morning tour, we stopped for lunch afterward with great options like empanadas, chicken and rice, açaí bowls, and smoothies.
