It was such a great experience to cook with lovely Fayruza! She is a fantastic cook, a good host and a great storyteller.
The dishes we were cooking today were amazing and so delicious! We can’t wait to cook them at home for our guests :)

We highly recommend Fayruza's cooking experience! She is such a professional in her presentation, pacing, and story-telling that you wouldn't think twice to see her hosting a show on the food network full time. She certainly has the charisma to pull it off! More importantly, she really gives a glimpse into her personal life and family's culture through her food and she's genuinely happy to share her knowledge and skills with others. Oh yeah, and the food itself is delicious! It was awesome to learn about what makes Cape Malay food unique and we can't wait to dig into some of the recipes Fayruza shared so that we can share them with our family! Do yourself a favor and accept Fayruza's hospitable invitation into her home, as it will give you a deeper appreciation of the local cuisine than any restaurant could. Just make sure to arrive hungry!

Absolutely recommend this experience if you’re in Cape Town. Fayruza provides lovely history about the area/ neighborhood, Cape Malay culture in Cape Town, personal history plus her style of teaching is the best - tactile and teaching skills not just steps. Would 100% recommend and do it again. We had an awesome time.

We were honeymooning in Cape Town and I wanted to do something relaxed, fun and intimate for us. This was the first time taking a cooking class for either of us, and it's set such a high bar for what to expect. Mama Fayruza welcomed us into her family home spanning generations back, shared heartfelt and captivating stories with us, got us rolling our sleeves up and ready in our aprons preparing mouth wateringly delicious food! Thank you so much for making this a memorable and 10/10 experience.
