One of the best days we’ve ever had!

We had an INCREDIBLE time with Joāo, he was an amazing tour guide and planned an incredible day.

We arrived at a central location in Lisbon. Joāo was animated, friendly, helpful, and welcoming as soon as we arrived!

The drive to the boat was about an hour. We arrived and board a ferry to the island. It was scenic and relaxing!

We arrived to the island and it was stunning! Huge cliffs rising from the water, a small beach, and so many little coves. We did an hour hike, ending at the fortress, where we learned some of the history before catching a boat back to the start (LOVE that we didn’t have to hike back!).

We then did a canoeing tour of the nearby alcoves and caves! One of the coolest experiences I’ve ever had. Absolutely stunning!

HIGHLY recommending this tour! Please note it is an active adventure. Bring good walking shoes, water, snacks, and a change of clothes. There are a lot of steps; take note if you have mobility issues FYI

My partner and I highly recommend this tour with João! The tour is unique and is held in small groups, allowing you to have a more personal experience. João is extremely friendly and genuinely passionate about what he does, creating a comfortable atmosphere within the tour group. He is very knowledgeable about both the political and natural history of Berlengas. João also recommended many great places to eat within Lisboa and was even helpful in recommending a location for an engagement proposal. 😉

It is important to note that the tour can be a little strenuous -- once you are at Berlengas, you will do a short hike to the fortress, followed by about an hour of kayaking. After this, you will have ample down time to hang out at the small beach and cafe. Overall, we had a beautiful day exploring Berlengas -- we highly recommend this tour for a unique experience! You will not find a better guide than João!

It was a very special experience. Joaõ made the trip even better with his funny and interesting communication. We would definitely recommend it.
