I loved the views on the trail. I’ve done a few solo hiking trips this year and this was my first hike in the PNW. I expected to be able to keep up with the group but did struggle with the altitude. I almost decided to call it after how steep the incline felt at the beginning of the hike, but decided to keep going. Once I did keep going the host, Matthew, did notice me but didn’t wait for me much each time the rest of the group stopped. By the time I caught up, we’d be on our way again within 2-5 minutes. I made it through most of the guided hike, but did struggle. I wish the hike could have been tailored to go just a bit slower so I could keep up with the rest of the group. All in all, expect to go at a fast pace. Be comfortable navigating the trail solo if you aren’t able to keep up.

Josh was an amazing guide! He provided us with some history of Seattle before leaving the city and continued to share his knowledge with us about different things as it relates to Mt. Rainier throughout the overall hike. 10/10 would recommend this experience, it felt unique, safe, and was overall a great experience!
