junio de 2024I originally thought we'd get to be around some horses for a few hours and leave (which would have been fantastic on its own). However, the experience was beyond! We left feeling so at peace and calm after being around such majestic animals. The location was so peaceful, quiet, and serene, overlooking the entire coastline.
At first, I was a little nervous as I had never been around horses before, and I really didn't know what to expect, but the incredible volunteers who make this sanctuary possible were beyond kind and patient, safety-oriented, and guided our group to connect with these recused horses that stole our hearts. I had the pleasure of being paired up with Sage who was so patient with me as I walked him for the first time, attached his bridle and lead, fed him, and even led him in a trot (on foot, not riding)! My group all fell in love with their horses, and it was such a transformative experience for all of us.
We could not recommend this experience enough and more so knowing our funds will go toward the continued care and rescue of these horses, some of who's rescue stories are just heartbreaking. But here, they have plenty of love, care! This is BEYOND worth it!
Cheers to you all for the fantastic work you all do! Next time we are in SB, we will book this experience again!

mayo de 2024A really unique experience! My 12 year old son and I had never had real interactions with horses and we had no idea what to expect. It was so much fun, a beautiful moment between human and horse. They are fascinating animals. These horses have been through a lot and giving them all your attention and care was very rewarding. The staff was very welcoming, we received clear instructions but the horses are the real stars of this experience. Highly recommend!

abril de 2024You won't be disappointed with this tour. First, the setting above Santa Barbara is beautiful. We really enjoyed meeting the staff and volunteers but mostly, so much fun spending time around these awesome animals! Each horse has a unique story and is lovingly cared for. We toured the facility; learned how to lead/walk our "own" horse (Diego and Rocky) in the arena; took them on an extended walk to nearby Skofield Park where they helped maintain the grass :-) and provided petting opportunities to kids; groomed them; and then led them to "snack time" before they went to the open corral for the afternoon.
