Hace 2 semanasWe are very pleased with our photoshoot with Matt! Our family was interested in taking photos at Fushimi Inari around sunset time on a Saturday. Matt was very proactive in working with us to find the best time for the photoshoot. He was very patient throughout and skillfully managed the crowds (in our pictures it seemed like we were the only ones there!). He had a very quick turnaround in sharing the photos online for easy download.

Hace 3 semanasI had a fun of ton biking around Kyoto and got way more knowledge and hit more hotspot photo places with Matt giving a tour than if by myself. Over all I highly recommend, if you want to get a nice exercise in while seeing the sites!
However, just in case it's your first time on a ebike (like me) and visiting Kyoto here's a couple of notes:
1) Ebikes require to have the power on, and if not on will feel like brakes constantly on and hard to pedal. With power on, makes hills a breeze to bike up. it did feel like cheating.
2) Ebikes are heavier, so can't jump it like a mountain bike necessarily for a curb. Make sure the wheel is perpendicular to curb when going up it or might tip over. (A typical bicycle experience if misjudge a curb.)
3) Kyoto is a city. If you're not use to city biking, it can take a slight adjustment. (I rode a bike in midtown Atlanta, so use to it.) What is amazing though, the drivers are use to bikes on the road and nice compared to bike in the USA city streets

septiembre de 2025Matt was so much more than a man leading us around on a bike. Besides the history of Kyoto, Matt possess' a good knowledge of Japan's spiritual persona, from Shintoism to Buddhism. Matt's passion for his subject was contagious and really what made the tour special. This is our second tour in Japan and both have really helped us really understand the complexities of Japanese culture. Thank you it was a privilege.

septiembre de 2025This was a great tour. Just the right pace & perfect stops! Matt was extremely knowledgeable and answered all our questions. He looked after us throughout - one in our party wasn’t confident on a bike & he helped her a lot to relax & have fun! Would definitely do a tour w/ Matt again!
