Was such a wonderful and truly unique experience, learning the Irish national sports! Owen the instructor had a mixed group to take care of - a group of 6 lads, an American family of 3, and me who's going on my own. I didn't feel left out though.
There was more hands-on time than I thought, like a proper training session instead of just an experience! We practised solo and with a partner, and there were a great variety of games / contests to keep those who were more advanced entertained too.
We didn't end up trying handball as hurling took up most of the time. It was more technical than I thought, from someone who used to play field hockey. It's not like any other sports. Gaelic football was more manageable.
Don't hesitate to join, even if you're by yourself. You'll have lots of fun (and sweat), so do bring a spare top to change.
