This was an incredible experience. Rachel planned everything beautifully, from the thoughtfully chosen painting spots to the smooth pacing of each lesson. Her instructions were clear, and she struck the perfect balance between guiding us and giving us space to paint in our own styles.

The watercolor kits were fantastic - compact, well-designed, and made painting outdoors easy and mess-free. From the stools and tarps to prepaid transit cards, every little detail showed how much care she put into making the experience effortless and enjoyable.

We also appreciated how Rachel shared fascinating stories and bits of Kyoto’s history throughout the day as it made us walk away with not only a new love for watercolor but also a deeper appreciation for the city itself. She even stayed late to help us finish our last paintings and snapped some lovely photos for us to remember the day by.

10/10 experience; highly recommended for anyone looking to see Kyoto through an artist’s eyes.

Rachel’s tour is fun, educational and unique! We learned so much about Japanese culture and visited places that have existed for centuries.

The food stops along the way were delicious! Painting as we explored was such a wonderful way to see Arashiyama!

Rachel is a wonderful guide that has excellent knowledge and expertise of the Kyoto area and the Japanese culture. Rachel is also an excellent artist and found the most inspiring places to draw and paint our surroundings.
