Every Sunday morning, the whole stretch of Gaya Street is closed off to traffic to make way for the street fair. A must visit market while in KK, you will be fascinated by the various items and goods sold at this fair. From arts and crafts, batik sarongs, footwear, fruits and flowers, local snacks and cakes, antiques and souvenirs, to even pets and herbs, this is the best place to experience the culture and lifestyle of the locals. The street fair starts as early as 6.00am and ends at 1.00pm. Besides, there are plenty of good restaurant along the streets, like the famous Laksa, Bak Kut Teh and many more.

Being the oldest street in Kota Kinabalu, you will be able to find some of the old school foodie here. Get a bowl of Beef brisket meehun soup or their Famous Beef Laksa at Kinabalu coffee shop behind Public bank.
Held here every Sunday morning until 12 or 1pm. Worth visiting if you are in town at the right time and sells as a range of good like clothes and souvenirs. Many of the hostels and backpacker venues are located here and you will find a wide selection of coffee shops and restaurants.
