The history of the most important submarine factory in Tsarist Russia began in 1912, when St. Petersburg businessmen Emanuel Nobel and Arthur Lessner, after whom the port is named, built a submarine factory here. A total of 12 modern submarines were built here. Kai Art Centre, the Proto Invention Factory, and the Technoclub Hall are located in the historical industrial buildings of Port Noblessner, which has won the award for the best urban space in the Baltics. Here, you will also find a seafront promenade, a marina, and some of the city's best eateries and galleries. Additionally, numerous events are hosted here.

The site of the more than a hundred-year-old submarine factory in the former Russian tsarist state has been given new life. Located next to the popular Seaplane Harbour museum, Noblessner enchants visitors with its colourful architecture, which boldly combines new and old styles. The old factory atmosphere has been best preserved in two architecturally powerful buildings – the PROTO Invention Factory and Kai Art Centre. What is remarkable about Noblessner is the equally powerful reputation of their food and drinks, right on the huge sun terrace that reaches directly over the sea during summer. You can find bistro Lore, cake café Suhkruingel, Kaif bar and Kampai restaurant, which brings together all kinds of Japanese cuisine from street food to the chef's own handwritten dishes. The summer terrace of Port Noblessner seems to be whispering: “If you’re not here, you don’t exist.” The Põhjala Tap Room, a small brewery just off Noblessner’s central square, is heaven for beer lovers. The restaurant delights its guests with a wide selection of beverages, while the menu focuses on authentic Texan barbecue dishes. In the summer, you can sit on the balcony or in the front yard.

Noblessner was an old ship building yard, and just like Telliskivi ten years ago, it was recently falling apart and mostly abandoned. Today Noblessner is completely transformed – modern meets old, sea meets the city.
