This is the museum of all things Lawrence and Douglas County, Kansas. It has pioneer history and features items and stories from before statehood. Very novel compared to today's hustle and bustle.

Watkins Museum focuses on Douglas County’s free-state struggle and its Civil War history, including William Quantrill’s devastating 1863 raid on Lawrence.

From Quantrill's raid to civil unrest on campus in the 60s--this is the spot for local history. Don't miss Papa Keno's pizza right next door. Excellent pizza!

Good backdrop to the history of Lawrence and Bleeding Kansas set in a great old bank building right on Mass.

Located in the 1888 Watkins Land Mortgage and National Bank Building and has been a part of the community since 1975. This museum is a great place to learn more about Douglas County’s rich history! Located at 1047 Massachusetts Street.
