Only about a 10 minute drive to catch this part of the 1300+ mile trail that goes from Georgia to Main.

There are two entrances to the Appalachian Trail that are easily accessible from our area and both are 40 minutes away! You can get on the AT at the Nanatahala Outdoor Center in the Nanatahala Gorge on Hwy 74 or you can get on at Winding Stair Gap on the top of Franklin Mountain on Hwy 64. There are many other short day-hike options!

The cottage is walking distance to the great Appalachian trail. You will find miles and miles of scenic hiking with trails for hikrers of all skill levels.

The Appalachian Trail is nearby. There are many lovely stretches, including one where you can walk a mountaintop ridge.
