VIEW BEATRIX POTTER’S HOME – HILL TOP, SAWREY, NEAR AMBLESIDE This special home, where the magical world of Peter Rabbit and friends was created, was first opened to the public 70 years ago, on the wishes of Beatrix. You gain a real sense of her life at Hill Top, with her furniture and belongings set very much how she left it. You can also have a peek into Mr McGregor’s Garden.

Hill Top is the 17th Century farm that BeatrixPotter bought in 1905. Extremely popular and owned by the National trust. It also has lovely gardens and a pop up cafe in the Orchard during the summer months.
