It's a lovely walk along the river. There is a pub on the water along the way. The lock is small, charming, and functional.

On the Thames, this is a popular place with local people. There's a pub called the Isis by the lock (Isis is the local name for the Thames in Oxford) which serves food and drink.

Iffley lock on the River Thames is one of the oldest pound locks in England, originally built in 1631 and still in constant use. The lock and the adjacent lock house, stone foot bridge and moorings form an idyllic river setting, frequented by ducks, geese, swans and moorhens. It is a favourite route for walkers between Iffley village and the Thames towpath.

Located near Iffley Village, 2-3 miles from Oxford city centre. Both lock and Village are worth a visit. It's possible to walk here from the tow path, access near the tow path near the Oxford spires hotel or near folly bridge. Right hand side when facing town!
