A new Egyptian Museum is currently under construction near the Pyramids in Giza and is scheduled to open some time in 2020. For the time being, the old Egyptian Museum is still open and located in a historical building on Tahrir Square. Its most famous attraction - Tutankhamun's Mask - is, as of now (August 2019), still on display. Make sure to go there while you still can!

The best way to follow up your trip to the pyramids is by visiting the Egyptian Museum. This massive facility contains more than 100,000 artifacts from ancient Egypt, including sarcophagi, jewelry and pottery. It would take almost a year to explore the museum in its entirety. To save you some time, we recommend sticking to a few notable galleries. The main attraction here is the Tutankhamun exhibit, which features treasures from King Tut's tomb, including his golden funeral mask.
