Take Lawrence bus to this stop and hop on commuter Metra train system. (Different from CTA el train system.) You can be in Evanston in 10 minutes! metrarail.com

The Ravenswood stop (Union Pacific North) is a block south. It's a 14-minute ride downtown (2 stops). Buy tickets on the train after boarding from the conductor, but go to the ticket office downtown for a return ticket. If you buy it on the train to Ravenswood, you pay a $5 convenience fee in addition to the cost of your ticket for each ticket! In the summer, take this train north to Ravinia where they host symphony, pop, jazz, country, and Americana concerts most nights. You can picnic on the lawn or eat at one of their restaurants. Tickets for concerts should be purchased in advance as shows often sell-out, even for the lawn. Special Ravinia train prices are available from the conductor.
