This theater boasts a history and a tradition of 140 years and through the Meiji, Taisho, Showa and Heisei Eras. It is supported by locals as a palace for Kabuki and newer forms of theater and continues to propel the theater culture of Japan. Even today this celebrated theater brings pleasure to the many people who enjoy the performances of Kabuki and period dramas, leaders in Enka (a traditional music genre) and popular performers.
