Welcome to the Great Northern Rails-to-Trails, where outdoor adventure lives and memories live on. Rails-to-Trails happens to be a non-profit organization that has made it their aim to pave several miles across Kalispell to Flathead Lake. With its origins sitting on what was previously the Great Northern Railroad System now sits a 22-mile paved path where you can walk, bike, hike, and enjoy the scenery. The network of trails takes you through several key landmarks, including downtown Kalispell. Whatever route you choose, you’ll be sure to enjoy every minute!

Just down from the post office, is the entrance to a local Rails-to-Trails path. It's next to the old steam engine. It's a fantastic place to go for a walk, jog, or bike ride. The trail goes all the way to Kalispell, and connects to the trail up Hwy 2.

The Historical Great Northern Rails to Trails bike path is a great place to go for your morning run or walk, or you can even ride your bike all the way out to Kila if you're looking for a several hour long adventure! A new addition has been added to this trail, so it now cuts through Kalispell and this portion is well lit for walks after dark.

Right out your front door is the start of the rails to trails biking/pedestrian path! It allows you to go as far north as Costco or you can just get on it and walk to Somers Bay Cafe for a great breakfast!

The trail head is only about a block and a half away from the Airbnb. A new addition has been added to this trail, so it now cuts through Kalispell and this portion is well lit for walks after dark.
