In 1999, SHAPE was founded when a few business owners, university faculty members, and local artists got together. They recognized a need for an organization to promote the arts in Shippensburg. Since its inception, SHAPE has hosted close to 100 gallery exhibits, held hundreds of art classes, organized house tours, arts events, culminating with the creation of the annual Solstice Arts Festival.
