Look, I won't lie, this sort of thing isn't my deal, I've never been. However, it gets rave reviews from many credible sources, so I feel you won't be disappointed if you have an interest in local history.
Great local museum, don't miss the old jail and George Starretts horse-drawn hearse on display!
The downstairs has fascinating information from when Port Townsend was a rolicking port town. The old jail, a story about Jack London, stories about men getting shanghai'ed, and stories about Ladies of the Evening.
The Jefferson Museum of Art and History showcases art collections that have been donated over the years with seasonal shows and exhibits. You’ll learn about the town’s history. Be sure to watch the award-winning “We Came with Dreams” video! Pick up a passport for admission to this museum, the Rothschild House and the Commanding Officer’s Quarters.
