If you take a left outside our gates you will wind up Bearwallow Mountain. About a 15-18 minute drive. At the top right past a neighborhood called Grand Highlands you will find a dirt road. That is the base for two great hiking trails. I love the Bearwallow trail on the right. It is a 2 mile loop. Mile up on the hiking trail and I suggest a mile back on the gravel service road. Scenery is different each way. I haven't gotten up the nerve to do the five mile hike that starts on the left side of the road. LOL

Absolutely my favorite place to hike. Easy climb and awesome views at the top. Well worth the climb. Bearwallow Mountain Hike is now connected to Wildcat Rock Trail making it a total of 4.7 miles.
