Giant Rock is the largest freestanding boulder in North America and is purported to be the largest free standing boulder in the world (the front part of the rock broke off in early 2000). This area has a very rich history. It was a sacred space with spiritual energy for the Native Americans. It then became gathering point for UFO believers in the 1950s. Located 3 miles from the Integratron on a dirt road.

Giant rock is about 15 min from our tiny home and is a large freestanding boulder measuring 7 stories tall!

This seven-story giant bolder has attracted UFO conferences, Hopi spiritualists, and the engineers of a “rejuvenation machine.” Geologically speaking, Giant Rock—located in beloved Landers—is roughly seven stories high and covers almost 6,000 square feet. Some say it is the largest freestanding boulder in the world.

It looms seven stories above the sandy basin floor. The rock is a magnet for spiritual vortexes and UFOs. For skeptics such myself, it seems more like a magnet for kooky characters and tall tales. The Giant Rock used to be a key stop for nomadic Native Americans and the Hopi used it for shamanic ceremonies. There is also a rumor that it sits on an energy vortex, of the kind you might find in Sedona Arizona or Tulum Mexico. The Rock is just a 10 minute drive up a dirt road from the Integretron. The road is a little rough in spots Drive carefully and avoid the road if it has been raining recently.
