From a distance Kilpeck looks like a humble village church, but it was built in the 1130s as a private chapel and has some of the most sophisticated decoration in a 12th-century English church. Kilpeck Church and Castle ruins are perfect to visit by car, but its also possible to walk there from the Cabin. It is quite a good walk (approx. 6 miles) so not for the faint- hearted! This church is well- known for its unusual carving, including a Sheenanagig that is quite famous!

The church has unique architecture surviving from the Middle Ages, including grotesques. Behind and around the church are earthworks from early settlements.

If your a historian into churches, this is not to be missed. A tiny little church steeped in history surrounded by Herefordshire cows!
