Beautiful place for a walk or a swim. We always went there when the kids were younger as the water is very clean and nice to swim in. There is also a place with benches where you can enjoy your own food. If you walk around the lake it is a 3km walk.

The place has an interesting history. From 1883-1983 a health resort. From 1943-45 the nazi headquarter in Denmark. Also used as a refugee camp. Since 1992 it has worked as an art museum.

When you get to the boats and a small “Beach” follow the gravel path a bit further. On the right you will find a small opening and a small bench. It is for you if you don’t like a crowded beach, but just want to go for a nice swim.
If you prefer a more crowded place and a place for sunbathing Almind sø is a good place to go.

https://simpelsilkeborg.dk. Really nice food made of good ingredients. A cozy small restaurant/cafe. Closed on mondays and sundays. In the evening only open on fridays and saturdays. We often go there for lunch.
You can also buy nice cheese, ham etc. to take home.
