A mile away, you'll find Deep Eddy Pool (spring fed and open year round), Lion's Municipal Golf Course (18 holes in the heart of Austin), and Lake Austin's waterfront dining. There is access to public transportation (bus) within walking distance (less than a mile). The walk is doable but not incredibly pedestrian friendly. Everything’s within reach at this contemporary carriage house featuring vibrant wood floors, trendy furnishings, and heaps of natural light. Brew coffee in a snug kitchen with marble surfaces and have a seat on the balcony overlooking the yard. This carriage house is great for a long term stay or a staycation! Due to the coronavirus, we’re taking extra care to disinfect frequently touched surfaces between reservations. The carriage house has been professionally cleaned using CDC recommended guidelines. The builders of this space spared no expense on the details and finishes of this property. It is exquisite! The private entrance makes it feel like your own slice of Austin. Speaking of slices: check out East Side Pies for pizza nearby and The Wheel, Whislers, or Kitty Cohen’s for a cocktail! The Mueller development is 2 miles away where the H-E-B grocery store is located if you’re looking to cook your own meals in the kitchen. Guest access is through the right-side fence gate while facing the main house on property from the street. Access codes will be provided upon booking. The carriage house includes a balcony patio that guests may use. We’re available when you need us and you can also have all the privacy you like. We’ll gladly give you suggestions of things to see and do in Austin. The home is set in the East Austin neighborhood of Chestnut and a short drive away from vibrant eateries, BBQ joints, brewpubs, and parks. The University of Texas is nearby and Downtown’s iconic music venues and nightlife are minutes away by car. The MLK, Jr. Red Line light rail station is a short 8min walk from the unit and can be used to get into downtown or to AustinFC soccer games! Uber or Lyft are recommended to get around Austin. You can usually find one of the scooters 🛴 down the street near MLK Blvd as well. If you have a personal vehicle or rental car you may use street parking in front of the main home. Tex Mex, Italian, Mexican Parrila, Fine Dining, casual Dining, all within 15 minutes. Of course you are welcome to prepare your own food in the fully equipped full kitchen. A side note: we have a family of wild turkeys that visit the property, as well as abundant wildlife. We also free range our 3 chickens and 3 dusks named Larry, Curley and Mo. My place is clean, modern, private, light and furnished with attention to detail and design. It's close to Barton Springs & Zilker Park, ABGB, Soup Peddler - Real Food & Juice Bar, Gourdough's, Papalote, Phoenicia, Broken Spoke, Torchy's, Red's Porch, Kerbey Lane, Matt's El Rancho, Patika Cafe, Bouldin Creek Cafe, Wheatsville, Maria's. You’ll love the views into the trees, the location, the ambiance, the quiet near the action. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (but not child-proof). The kitchen opens into the dining area and living room, and there are two separate bedrooms. The interior space is 750 sf, and the back deck is roughly 280 sf. The large sliding glass doors in both the living room and one of the bedrooms lend an indoor-outdoor living atmosphere, adding space and the feeling of being up in the trees. My place is the back unit in a duplex. It's very private and quiet, set off from the street. I'm easy to reach via Airbnb messaging, email or phone, happy to offer local tips. And of course I'm available should anything come up during your stay, as is the housekeeper. Listen to the quietness of this green and hilly neighborhood, close to Zilker Park and Barton Springs. Alternatively, head for nearby South Lamar, which is loaded with restaurants, shops, cinemas, and cafes—there's plenty to do right nearby.
