Wine Bar Lofty offers a large selection of wines from all over the world at a reasonable price. I enjoy going there for business dinners as well as with friends. On Friday and Saturday and special occasions reservations are advisable as there is seating for only 50 people. There is also parking available.

The Gliwice provocation, i.e. a false attack by the Germans on their own outpost, gave the Third Reich an excuse to start an invasion of Poland. The consequence of these events was the outbreak of World War II.
Interesting fact: The radio station in Gliwice is made of larch wood and is 111 meters high, which makes it the tallest wooden structure in Europe and one of the tallest facilities of this type in the world. Must see!

Gliwice is a city with a rich and quite turbulent history, which over the centuries changed its nationality and passed from hand to hand. Both Poles, Czechs, Austrians, Prussians and Germans ruled here. These influences are still visible today in the architecture and spatial layout of the city, thanks to which it has its own unique charm and character.
Gliwice was granted municipal rights before 1276, which makes it one of the oldest cities in Upper Silesia. For comparison, Katowice, which is the capital of the region, officially became a city only in 1865, i.e. almost 600 years later.
Beautiful Market Square (Rynek) and a small but very atmospheric old town, a Palm House with exotic plants, historic churches, tenement houses, green parks and squares, technical monuments and museums.
