Welcome to Longforde, a very special, charming and beautifully furnished cottage attached to our main home but completely independent with your own access and landscaped to ensure your absolute privacy. Set on 4 acres of stunning gardens, each room has private rural views of the countryside and Tararua ranges. We are located at the end of one of Greytowns most beautiful streets, a walkable 2km into the shops and cafes. As well, we are on a popular walking and biking route to the Waiohine river.

Escape to the country- The Sows Ear @ Rahui

Welcome to The Sows Ear @ Rahui 🐷. 45 mins east of Masterton. A renovated cottage in the beautiful established Rahui gardens 🌸 You cant get much more rural than this. No phones, no wifi , just good old fashioned being 'present', hanging out with Mother Nature, listening to the birds, and enjoying the company you are with. Rahui has 3 houses on it, We are in the front house. You may see us walking about, or quad bikes. Rent the ebikes for a sweet as ride to the coast. Two great pubs near by

Private retreat next door to world class winery

Take a break and unwind at this peaceful oasis a short drive from from Greytown, Carterton or Masterton and 25mins from Martinborough. The house is a haven, down a long private drive in park like grounds opening to stunning views over the vineyards. Next to Urlar winery (a bottle of their Pinot Noir welcomes you!) & just a few minutes to 3 more and the Cliffs picnic spot by the river. Cosy fire for winter, fire pit for summer star gazing, four poster bed, kitchen, BBQ, fast EV charger.

Kererū Rest Take time amongst nature

Kererū Rest is in a semi rural position, enjoy relaxing on the deck or in the private outside beautiful bath. There is a bar fridge/freezer, toaster and kettle. Breakfast selection provided eg: muesli, bread, butter, spreads, orange juice,milk, teas and fresh plunger coffee. This may work for travellers who don't plan on spending vacation time cooking although a gas barbeque is available (see photo) Greytown is five minutes away providing boutique shopping and a variety of dining.

The golf club and tennis courts are only across the road, and the shop and playground a 5-minute walk away. No groups and ABSOLUTELY no parties.

A walk to the river mouth weather permitting and depending on tides is where you will experience 7000 year old Totara Tree stumps . There are amazing rock formations at the mouth of the Kaiwhata river also. In evening you can relax under the night sky in the private spa pool which is right outside you door.

Heat pump and log burner in downstairs living room and heatpump in upstairs bedroom to keep you cosy in winter and cool in summer. The grounds are spacious and private. Great for playing games, BBQ and evening drinks on the sun-drenched deck or in front of the outdoor fireplace. Toys, board games, bikes and sports equipment are provided. Prior approval for pets is required ($20 per stay)

Great outdoor furniture on both sides of the house, double BBQ, fire for the winter, dishwasher, washing machine, and only steps from the beach. Perfect for families in the summer or a romantic getaway for a couple in the winter. The view from your bed upstairs is gorgy! . Sorry, not suitable for under 5's because of the spiral stairs. No parties or groups thanks.
