The lodge is on the property beside the main house facing an one acre horse paddock and overlooking a 3 acre pond, dock and gazebo. We are horse friendly. This beautifully renovated home sits on 5.5 acres with an acre pond. Conveniently located near I-55 & I-12 and about 5 min. from S.L.U. & downtown Hammond. This secluded 3-bedroom cabin has everything you need for your perfect Louisiana-getaway. No traffic, noise or people. Located on 220 acres adjacent to the Bogue Chitto National Wildlife Refuge, the property includes freshwater lakes, a beach, and multiple trails for a beautiful morning or evening walk. Guests have easy access to the BCNWR for deer, hog, etc. hunting, as well as canoes and kayaks. We have blueberries, whitetail deer and chickens supplying fresh eggs, when laying.

Covington Cottage

Our Guest House sits behind our historic home in a lovely residential neighborhood. It is in walking distance to our historic downtown with many galleries, shops, and restaurants. We are just 40 minutes from New Orleans over the the Causeway Bridge. Our Guest House is done with a New Orleans feel. We have a three day minimum stay. We accept pets with prior approval. The guesthouse is not appropriate for infants or young children. We do have friendly pets on the property.

The Blue Heron Guest House is a great place to just get away, enjoy nature, canoe (provided), fish the pond or the bayou, birdwatching (lots of birds), etc. The property does have a boat slip and a small boat launch for those who want to explore the area by boat. Bayou Manchac connects to the Amite River nearby. We can’t wait to share our paradise with you!
