I am an Artist / Photographer born in Kyoto I started hosting because I love meeting people from all over the world and making new friends. This place used to be one big guesthouse, but during Covid19, I have stopped running the guesthouse and I moved in with my wife and 2 kids. Still I didn't want to give up so I left the good parts. Private cypress bath and renovated rooms and made another entrance for the Guests. So now it is 2 separate house Please check the house rules before you book.

If you’re planning of a fantastic stay, then this Ginkakuji Vacation Home is just the place for you! The rental is the downstairs of the home with a private entrance and completely separated. Please note that the host family with dog（toy poodle） lives on site and may be present during your stay.

You can also use wifi. The bath is about the size of two adults and uses Japanese cypress. It will be a very beautiful room just opened in January. Please try and stay at once. The location of the hotel is in a place where you can walk to downtown area of Kyoto and famous temples. It is a very convenient place.

100 year old Kyoumachiya 【４DK】３min Ginkakuji

This is a 90-year-old traditional Kyoumachiya certified by Kyoto City. World heritage Ginkakuji Temple and the path of philosophy are within a 5-minute walk. It is also a convenient location for Nanzenji and Heian Shrine. Kyoumachiya, where ordinary people enjoy the seasons and enjoy daily life, is a relaxing and nostalgic space. It is 92 square meters including the 2nd floor, and the wet area is easy to use and has been renovated, so you can spend it comfortably.

Our inn was apparently built in the early Showa period. We have renovated the bathroom and kitchen areas to make your stay more comfortable while still retaining the charm of the townhouse, such as the low ceilings and narrow, steep stairs. Why not try experiencing a bit of Kyoto life? Please note that we will charge a local accommodation tax (200 yen per person per night) in addition to the accommodation fee. The tax fee will increase to 400 yen from March 1, 2026.

Tabitabi Shinsen | Kyoto Machiya near Nijo Castle

[Tabitabi Shinsen] is a traditional two-storey machiya , which was built in the Taisho era with more than one hundred years history. The name Shinsen comes from one of the oldest famous courtyard in Kyoto during Heian Period, "Shinsenen", which is located near our house. Here, you can experience the original and traditional Japan and the ingenuity of combining modern elements with traditional craftsmanship.

Super cozy private inn in town "hygge 花屋町"

Opened in the spring of 2022. Private lodging for one group per day. Close to Kyoto Station. you can get to almost anywhere in the city without changing trains or buses. You can also use 2 bicycles for free. There are many hotels, hot spa and restaurants nearby for dining. Try to visit Kyoto Aquarium and Kyoto Railway Museum in Umekoji Park if you have spare time.

This traditional Japanese house is built in 1924 and officially certificated by Kyoto city. The house is located in a quiet residential neighborhood and is in close proximity to Shinnyo-do temple. It is situated on a charming path within walking distance of numerous temples, including Ginkakuji, Nanzenji, Eikando, Heian Shrine and the Philosophers Path.
