A nice town to enjoy life on Etna - some fresh air on a hot summer day, good authentic food, some custom-tailored tours to Etna (especially individual ones) part from here. Zafferana and its neighbouring Milo are good to view Etna errupting.

The location on the slopes of Mount Etna amidst centuries-old lava streams makes it a popular base for hiking and sightseeing tours in the Etna area. Famous is the fried pizza (Pizza Siciliana).
