Scicli is now well known from the Inspector Montalbano series and has grown in popularity as a tourist destination over the last 5 years. Scicli has a very good and diverse range of restaurants, cafes, bars, shops and market stalls selling almost everything that one needs. The little super market "Deco" near to the San Bartolomeo church is very well stocked with fresh bread and delicatessen counter. A flea market is held on the Piazza Italia every third Sunday in the month. The 1930's family run cine Italia on Piazza Italia is a must for architecture but sadly closed in March 23. Scicli has a number of festivals the most spectacular of which is the festival of San Guiseppe where all shapes and sizes of are horses draped in fresh flowers parade around Scicli all afternoon.
