Westport is a beautiful vibrant town nestled below Croagh Patrick (holy mountain) & Clew Bay in the Atlantic Ocean. It is a bustling tourist town which is beautifully maintained, and wins Tidy Town awards every year. The local population is approx 6.5k which multiplies with day trippers & tourists from around the globe. There's lots of small independent shops to browse in and a great choice of restaurants & bars to eat & drink in. There are several leaisure centres with pools & lots of sporting activities within the general area, including all types of water sports, fishing, hiking, cycling, golf, squash, tennis, horse riding, archery, paintball etc. There is a cinema & small theatre in the centre of the town.

Westport is County Mayo's premier tourist destination, visited by holiday makers from all over the world and Ireland. It is a charming pictureques town and has good coffee. It has fabulous restarant and cafes, great pubs, hotels, spa's, charming bookshops, elegant boutiques, retail and gift shops, blue flag beaches, Westport House and Croagh Patrick. Skate Park, walking & cycle route around the town and refurbished sea swimming spot at the Quay when the tide is in.
