京都の花街では最も古く、春には芸妓・舞妓達による「北野をどり」が催され、夏はビアガーデンで賑わいます。 It is the oldest place in Kyoto hanamachi. There're Kitano Odori(Kitano Dance) by geisha and maiko held in the spring, and beer garden festival held in the summer. 它是京都花街上最古老的地方，春天有艺伎和舞伎的北野舞节，夏天有啤酒节。

Take the North side stop to go to Kyoto station, World Heritage Nijo Castle (transit to subway) and downtown. 4 or 5 buses per hour from 6am to 7pm, less to 3 until 9pm, last runs until about 10:30pm.

Kamishichiken (上七軒) is one of the five red-light districts in Kyoto along with Gion Kobu (祇園甲部), Gion Higashi (祇園東), Ponto-cho(先斗町), Miyagawa-cho (宮川町), and Shimabara (嶋原). Unlike Gion, this place is not found by most tourists so you can enjoy the old Kyoto atmosphere without being interrupted many others. You can enjoy Kaiseki Ryori (懐石料理) and Geisya (芸者) here, just like in Gion. There is my favorite chicken restaurant in the are, which is housed in a traditional machiya wooden house, and the chef's been doing this over 50 years.
