It bears the name of Antiguo Colegio de San Ildefonso for having housed four seminaries in the 16th century: San Pedro and San Pablo, San Bernardo, San Miguel and San Gregorio, which were in charge of the Jesuits. Upon merging, the Colegio de San Ildefonso was born in 1583. However, it was until the 18th century that the building acquired the baroque architecture that now characterizes it.

Museum of art, many of the main exhibitions that take place in the country come to their galleries. Inside an old colonial building on the street next to the Templo Mayor Museum. Be sure to look at all the murals. The student conflict of 1968 began in its doors, then it housed the National Preparatory Nº 1. Discounts to students, and students with a valid ID. Tuesday free admission. $
