Mount Shasta is breathtaking, serene, and an easy access for families looking to make memories together that are very much picture worthy. The main road to this trailhead is paved, there is restroom access (rugged mountain style) at the trailhead. Bunny Flats takes you to a historic cabin site that has been used for years as both an educational hub and a respite for Mountain Summiteers. Please plan accordingly, take plenty of water, and extra clothing. And remember, you are exploring a wild land, the mountain weather can change rapidly, without warning. Only explore the trail to your level of personal comfort and knowledge. If you are an experienced hiker or backpacker, this trail connects to many others, making your explorations for the day endless. This is a wild land with Mountain Lions, and rattlesnakes, please be mindful of your surroundings.

Gorgeous views from this highest point to travel by vehicle on Mt. Shasta. During winter months, great access to snow and also access for mountaineering on Mt. Shasta.

Hike 1.5 miles from here to the Sierra Club Hut called Horse Camp. Wonderful place to take a hike on the mountain, without too big of a commitment.
