This is a quiet beach compared to Carbis Bay and the St Ives town beaches. You can also take your dog on the beach all day. You can drive to it, but it is easily accessed from the Cabin, down the road and onto the foot path. There are 3 paths to choose from, low, middle and high. Just ask if you want us to point you in the right direction. Fabulous sunrises to be viewed if you are keen to get up and our early.

Accessed via the village of Lelant, this beach lies on the western side of the Hayle estuary. Beautiful pale sands stretch out below dunes and at low tide it is possible to walk round the point to Carbis Bay or you can join the coastal path which will even take you as far as St Ives. It's not safe to swim from this beach because of hidden currents and rip tides.

orth Kidney beach between Hayle and Carbis Bay is another large, popular, sandy beach backed by dunes and cliffs. It is also popular with Hang Gliders and Para Gliders. Porthkidney beach is dog friendly with dogs allowed on the beach all year round. Access to the beach is via a footpath from St Uny Church at Lelant, crossing the golf course and passing under the St Erth to St Ives branchline. In the beautiful living churchyard across the footpath from the church, bluebells, cowslips and primroses blanket the ground in spring. The St Uny Heritage Centre is located in the churchyard and is a great place to stop for tea, coffee and homemade cakes. The Centre also offers a free exhibition of local history and access to reference books about the area. Some books of local interest are for sale and there are a range of donated novels and non fiction books to purchase so if you're off to Porthkidney Beach to relax on the sands and enjoy the stunning view of the Hayle River, Hayle Towans, Godrevy and St Ives, and you want to buy something to read then why not drop in. St Uny Heritage Centre opens in the spring through to the end of October, on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday between 11am and 4pm.

It's hard not to LOVE this dog-friendly beach, a little touch of the caribbean with its white sand and crystal clear turquoise sea. Stunning views right out to Godrevy lighthouse across to St. Ives. Walking alongside the golf course and train line all along to Carbis Bay and Porthminster beach in St. Ives.
