Shinsekai is one of my favourite places in whole Osaka. Its very oldschool and full of neon-lights. Its famous for its restaurants with huge amounds of food. Also its the home of Kushikatsu, which basically means something fried on a stick. Its more fun if you come by after dark so you can enjoy all the neonlights. Be sure not to come too late, since alot of restaurants close after 22:00. Please enjoy Shinsekai and check out one of the Kushikatsu restaurants, you wont be dissapointed.

Named "Shinsekai" meaning "new world", this area have been given a new lease of life of the past, projecting an enrich cultural and historical aspect of Japan or rather Osaka. Located in Nipponbashi, one will not miss the high tower even from afar, the Tsutenkaku Tower (you can actually pay to go up and have a good bird's eye view of the area).

To the west of Tennoji Park is Shin-Sekai, one of Osaka's most interesting neighborhoods. This area has remained largely untouched over the years. At the beginning of the 20th Century the area flourished, and pulsed with amusement attractions and restaurants that drew enormous crowds. Today, little of the bustle remains, but many old eating and drinking establishments can still be found. One highlight is Jan-Jan Yokocho Lane, which runs along one side of Shin-Sekai. This dining and shopping street is where laborers who rebuilt Osaka after World War II gathered, and it still contains Japanese-style pubs and cheap cafeteria-like restaurants with highly unique menus that include hormone-yaki (b
