Grooms Cottage is on a private estate right next to the ruins of Sheriff Hutton Castle. The property is in a peaceful setting but only two minutes walk away from the village pub and post office/general store. Our cottage was completely renovated in 2021 and is in a great location for walkers, cyclists, and explorers. A cosy cottage located on a leafy, quiet cul-de-sac lined with large detached Victorian houses, only 10 minutes walk to York Minster, Bootham Bar and the city walls . The cottage is all on ground level with FREE Parking for up to 3 CARS. It’s light, bright and modern. It has a fully fitted kitchen, family size fridge freezer, and washer/dryer, etc. You’ll be welcomed with a luxurious cream tea including local award winning jam or at Christmas time you’ll be treated to local cheeses.

Deans Garden Centre and Café for a treat as well as Forest Park Golf Club. The property is also close to the Vanguard Centre and Monks Cross Shopping Park.

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. Quiet, secluded location 15 min walk from Dunnington. York city centre 6 miles away. Located directly on the Way of the Roses cycleway or Route 66. There is a third of a mile gravel track leading to the property if arriving by car. Direct access to Hagg Wood across private field. There is a sofa bed in the living room which can be used if needed for one adult or two small children.
