The Getaway in Bourbon Country with Breakfast

Located in the heart of the Bourbon Trail. Come and enjoy the peace and quiet of country living, but still close enough to cities. When you first arrive, you will find the entrance on a large, covered patio. There is a gas grill there for your use. We also have a fire pit, so bring wood. Feel free to take a walk down to the river at the bottom of our property. There you will find a park like setting where you can relax and listen to nature if you like. Eggs, bacon and biscuits provided.

Built as a bed and breakfast history suggests Abraham Lincoln stayed in the home once upon a time. The underground railroad stopped here, marked by the now 200 year old towering Oak tree. Our "castle" is the former Lawrence County Jail and Sheriff's Residence in Bedford, about 40 miles south of Bloomington and an hour from French Lick. The Tower Room has a comfortable queen-sized bed, private bath, and interesting original art. In the morning we will treat you to a big breakfast tailored to your individual tastes. Vegan, gluten-free, lactose-free, no problem for us--we love our guests and we love to cook!
