The Wood Pile Inn getaway

Kick back and relax in this calm, stylish space. This historic cabin built in 1920 was recently refurbished to its old charm with some modern upgrades for your comfort. The original owner of the Cabin was an author named Catherine Woods. She wrote the very first book on the history of Palomar Mountain; Teepee to Telescope. You'll find a copy in the cabin for a good read.Lots of natural light make this little cabin feel spacious, the windows throughout the cabin offer a beautiful forest view.

The Casita is a separate building next to our home. It's unique design with saltillo tile and natural stone kitchen gives it lots of character. You will enjoy a private bedroom and separate living space in this 1 bedroom unit! Less than half a mile from Orfila winery, and less than 8 miles to San Diego's incredible wine region. You will have a private patio with access from french doors in your unit. There is a bbq, firepit and pool in our shared back yard space, available upon request.

The Glass House - A Nature Retreat

Enjoy a unique retreat; 180 degrees of views from inside the home. Nestled at the end of a private road, our place is nearby great hiking and countryside wineries. The Glass House provides a magical space and nature retreat where individuals, couples, families and friends can gather together to re-connect with nature, each other, and themselves. The breathtaking mountain top views, the huge deck, hot tub, fireplace, and the open concept living space is unbeatable for the perfect getaway.

Cedar Crest

Cedar Crest is a nicely remodeled cabin while keeping its original charm. It is easy access. A few steps lead you to the deck in the middle of the trees... This cabin can sleep 2 people in a king bed and if you would like to bring your kids, the master bedroom has a full size futon. (Kids sleep free) For pet owner, the east side of the cabin has a fenced-in space. We recommend you do not let them be there unsupervised as a motivated mountain lion could jump the fence and arm your pet.

You will love the fresh fruit, farm animals, and tranquility of the location - all while only being 4.5 miles off the freeway. This space is excellent for couples, friends and solo adventurers.

Nestled in the ideal location in Elfin Forest, close to everything but secluded enough for relaxing, quiet time and privacy. Step outside and you are right on the trails connecting you to miles of scenic hiking & biking in Elfin Forest. Just a stone’s throw to San Elijo’s village with breweries, shopping, and restaurants and only 10 miles to Encinitas’s beaches.

Creekside Studio (private entrance)

Creekside Studio is a cozy, well equipped, private yet centrally located studio retreat in South Escondido. It is on a 1-acre, quiet cul-de-sac lot, attached to the main house (our residence), with it’s own private entrance. The studio has a small kitchenette (no stove), a queen size bed and a twin sleeper/couch and a bathroom with shower (no tub). Roku TV, free-WiFi keep you entertained or hang out on the deck with your coffee in a park-like setting.

Quaint Artist Apartment (Full Private Apartment)

This quaint furnished apartment is attached to our home, with a lovely outdoor patio space & artist sculpture gardens! Guests have their own entrance & off street parking. Stores & restaurants within walking distance & 2 miles from downtown Escondido, including the California Center for the Arts & movie theaters. Only 5 miles to the San Diego Zoo Wild Animal Park and several wineries.
