Called the "best little fair in the west", the Stanwood Camano Fair is known for its family friendly fare and activities. Children are welcome to show their animals and everyone can show their arts, crafts, garden offerings, and whatever they did this past year. The evening entertainment features many good performers and there is always the rides and carnival. Local groups provide many good offerings for food and drinks at the fair. This year it runs August 3-5.

Cama Beach is a park that hosts the Center for Wooden Boats as well as a historical fishing resort complete with refurbished cabins. They host an annual quilt show July 28. The Cama Beach Quilters also made the quilts to go on the period recreated beds in the cabins.
The Center for Wooden Boats offers boats for rent as well as opportunities to take classes on how to build boats. Our family has enjoyed volunteering for their annual Mothers Day weekend sailings on the Saturday before Mother's Day. They often provide family friendly opportunities to build small boats suitable for sailing on a string.
The Cama Beach Cafe offers breakfast and lunch as well as catering for special events

Getting Around
Island Transit offers free bus service on Camano Island and will also provide transportation to Cama Beach. There are two busses - the West Camano and the East Camano. I think riding around the island is a nice way to see the views. The buses also have limited room for a bike or two. There is a part and ride at Terry's Corner. The drivers are friendly and helpful. Just tell them where you want to go and what you want to do. The bus stops at the end of our street.
